How to download MetaTrader safely (and spot fake versions)
Fake trading software is a common trick. A "special edition" can steal your login or show you false prices. The rule is simple.
Download only from:
- MetaQuotes, the maker of MetaTrader;
- your broker's official website or client area;
- the official Google Play or Apple App Store, where the publisher must be MetaQuotes Ltd.
Never install from links in messages, adverts, social media groups, or anyone offering a "pro version", a "free robot" or a "guaranteed" system.
Keep your account safe:
- never share your trading password — a real education provider will never ask for it;
- turn on two-step security for your e-mail and your broker's client area;
- be careful with "account managers" who contact you first.
If an offer promises guaranteed profits, treat it as a warning sign.
