Logging in to MetaTrader: demo accounts, servers and passwords
Every MetaTrader account has three parts: a login number, a password and a server at the broker. You need all three to log in.
Open a demo account first — practice money only. Either on your broker's website, or inside MetaTrader: File → Open an Account, choose your broker's demo server, and pick a realistic balance (about the amount you might really use one day). Why a demo matters: Why every beginner should practise on a demo account first.
To log in: File → Login to Trade Account, then enter the login number, the password and the matching server.
Servers: demo and live accounts use different servers, and the name usually shows which (for example "…-Demo"). If a login fails although the password is right, the most common reason is the wrong server.
Passwords:
- your trading password can place trades — keep it private;
- some brokers also give an investor password, which only lets someone *view* the account; think carefully before sharing even that;
- Holy Trading Science will never ask for your trading password. If someone claiming to be "support" asks for it, refuse.
Phone and computer together: you can log in to the same demo account on both; what you do on one appears on the other.
Official help: opening an account in MT5 (opens in a new tab).

Trading involves significant risk of loss. Practise on a demo account first. Holy Trading Science provides education, not financial advice.
